Elflock: A Fantasy Game in Authentic Hungarian Debuts in 2026

NovaSphera Studio, an independent game developer based in Budapest, Hungary, has announced its first project: Elflock, a narrative-driven fantasy game set in a world inspired by Hungarian folklore and the medieval European era. The single-player, third-person adventure allows players to take on the role of a princess who returns to her homeland on the brink of war and must navigate the political maze of the royal court to resolve the conflict and save her kingdom.

Elflock is a tale of treachery, faithfulness, heroism, cowardice, love, and deep-rooted hatred, told in the unique Hungarian language, with English subtitles. The game features Hungarian voice acting, provided by SzinkronSarok and its talented voice actors, to capture the mysterious and sometimes dangerous world of Elflock.

Hungarian is a complex language with distinctive linguistic features such as vowel harmony, an extensive case system with 18 different cases, and numerous prefixes and suffixes that can alter the meaning of words completely. To ensure the high quality of the voice recording, NovaSphera Studio has set up a community fundraiser, which can be accessed via the Elflock website.

NovaSphera Studio plans to release a free demo during the second half of this year, giving players their first taste of the gameplay, story, and language. The full version of Elflock is expected to be released on PC in 2026 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. High-resolution images and downloadable trailers are available in the Elflock Press Kit, and journalists are welcome to share the already released English trailers on their own platforms.
