Dune: Spice Wars, a real-time 4X game set on Arrakis and based on the Legendary Entertainment license, has announced its first post-launch DLC, The House Vernius of Ix. This expansion introduces the technologically advanced Ixians as the seventh playable faction, offering new playstyles focused on research and diplomacy. The Ixians have unique ways of controlling and limiting opponents' technology and are highly dependent on alliances for success.

In addition to the DLC, the free Heroes of Dune update allows players to control legendary characters from the Dune universe. Each faction now has two Heroes to choose from, with a total of 14 iconic characters available, each with unique active skills, global effects, and localized effects. The update also includes combat improvements, making the game more accessible to players of all skill levels.

The Ixian Edition, which includes both the base game and DLC, is available at a 10% discount, and the base game is 35% off during the Steam Spring Sales until March 21. The House Vernius of Ix DLC and Heroes of Dune Free Update are available now on Steam and Xbox X|S.
