Dune: Awakening Direct Reveals Epic Open-World Survival MMO - First Look at Gameplay and Interviews

Pc Games Indie Game Role Playing Game Early Access Free To Play Sony Playstation Microsoft XboxFuncom, the developer of online games, has revealed a new trailer and featurette for its upcoming open-world survival MMO, Dune: Awakening. The game is set on the dangerous planet of Arrakis, the only source of the valuable spice melange, and promises to offer a unique and ambitious experience that combines the grit and creativity of survival games with the social interactivity of a large, persistent multiplayer game.
The new trailer, titled "Survive Arrakis," showcases the game's stunning visuals and epic scale, with colossal sandworms, soaring ornithopters, and a variety of vehicles to explore the deadly deserts. Players will gather materials to build their base, learn deadly techniques and abilities from the Great Schools of the Imperium, and rise from survival to dominance.
The featurette, titled "Creating Worlds: From Book to Film to Game," features interviews with Greig Fraser, the academy award-winning Cinematographer on Villeneuve’s Dune Part 1 and 2, and Funcom Creative Director, Joel Bylos. They discuss the creative overlap between Dune: Awakening and the recent movies and reveal what it takes to bring the ultimate Dune fantasy to life.
