Doom Turtle, an independent game developer from London, Ontario, Canada, has announced the development of their latest turn-based RPG, Legends of Starkadia. The game is a tribute to classic RPGs such as EarthBound, Chrono Trigger, Undertale, Paper Mario, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga.

In Legends of Starkadia, a bored Earthling teenager is accidentally teleported to the Starkadian Empire, where he finds himself in the midst of an interdimensional battle between good and evil. The fate of the universe now rests on his shoulders and a group of misfits as they take on the shadowy extradimensional armies of the Empire and strive to become the heroes the system needs.

The game boasts strategic turn-based combat, a deeply rich and engaging story, and 12 quirky characters to collect and play, each with their own unique attributes and skills. Players can explore a sprawling universe with over 9 planets, providing plenty of opportunities for adventure and discovery.

Doom Turtle's first title, Ember Knights, has received both commercial and critical success. While half of the studio is working on the 2.0 and future DLC, the other half has been dedicated to the development of Legends of Starkadia.
