Refract Studios has announced the release of Distance: Console Edition for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game, which combines arcade racing with parkour, has been successful on PC with over 300,000 players and 5,000 custom levels on the Steam Workshop. Distance is a spiritual successor to Nitronic Rush, created by Refract's founders, which has been downloaded over 3 million times.

The game features a thrilling single-player campaign, arcade frenzy modes, and couch multiplayer for up to four players. It also includes an endless tracks feature called Trackmogrify and an electrifying soundtrack. The PS5 version features haptic feedback, allowing players to feel the details of each impact and skid.

Distance was successfully Kickstarted in 2012 and launched on Steam Early Access in December 2014. It has won several awards, including one of MomoCon's best games in the 2017 Indie Awards, Best Racing Game from PAX West from Curse in 2015, SideQuesting Team Choice Award at PAX East 2017, and an Independent Games Festival "Excellence in Audio" Honorable Mention in 2019.

Refract Studios is a small, Seattle-based independent studio founded by Jordan Hemenway, Kyle Holdwick, and Jason Nollan, who met at the DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA. After the success of Nitronic Rush, they formed Refract Studios to create Distance, the company's debut title.
