Early Access Indie Game Pc Games Role Playing Game

The game "Below the Stone," a dwarf-themed mining roguelike developed by Strollart and published by Apogee Entertainment, has received a new update called "Caves Awaken." This update introduces periodic Cavern events that release waves of enemies as time passes, increasing the spawn rate of new Shade monsters the longer players spend underground.

The update also includes a new Mega-map to help players navigate the labyrinthine underground layers and prevent accidental backtracking. Additionally, new quality-of-life updates have been added, such as improved graphics, updated breakable objects, new gameplay modifiers, and new NPCs.

With the new update comes new challenges, including Monster Closets and Boomstone traps. Players must be cautious and carve a path out of harm's way when encountering these new dangers. The game is currently available on PC via Steam Early Access and GOG and will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025.

Strollart, the developer, is a group of friends who came together to create indie games and break away from the AAA formula. Apogee Entertainment, the publisher, has a long history in the gaming industry and has funded, produced, and published successful games like Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem 3D, and Max Payne 1 & 2. Apogee currently empowers indie developers and has several hit releases under its belt.
