Hipster Whale, the Australian game studio, has partnered with Take 3 for the Sea and Green Game Jam to launch the Ocean World Update in Crossy Road. The update, which will run from June 5 to June 22, encourages players to collect plastic waste in-game and trade it for daily rewards. The initiative supports Take 3 for the Sea's work in reducing plastic pollution and promoting ocean conservation.

The update features two new Ocean characters and a reef-freshed Ocean World to explore. Players are invited to embrace Take 3's message of "taking 3 pieces of rubbish, taking 3 actions to reduce their plastic footprints, and taking 3 people on the journey" in both Crossy Road and their everyday lives.

Hipster Whale has also made a donation to Take 3 for the Sea, which has supported the removal of 25,000 pieces of trash from the environment, provided 80 clean-up kits to community-led events, and funded new online learning resources that will reach thousands of students.

Crossy Road is an endless arcade hopper where players guide quirky characters across busy roads, train tracks, and rivers while avoiding obstacles and trying to beat their high score. With charming voxel-style graphics, intuitive tap-and-swipe controls, and hundreds of fun characters to unlock, Crossy Road is a wildly addictive experience for players of all ages.

Hipster Whale is a multi-award winning Australian studio that has joined forces with world-renowned companies along the way, including Bandai Namco and Disney to create more top-charting games. They continue to make and publish bright and funny games with broad appeal.

Take 3 for the Sea is an organization focused on reducing the impact of plastic waste on marine life. They encourage people all over the world to help protect our ocean by taking three simple actions.

The Green Game Jam is a yearly event where studios are challenged to bring nature into their games, inspiring players to take action for the planet while still having a blast playing. The initiative empowers studios to use games for good by raising funds for conservation efforts, getting devs and players to share their love of nature, and calling on global leaders to help protect our planet.
