Andrei Fomin, an experienced solo developer of retro games, has announced the release date of his latest game, Coin-Op Vice, which is set to be released on September 26. The game is a 2.5D Top-Down retro action game that features deckbuilding and over 100 arcade mini-games.

The game's plot revolves around a detective from the 80s who is investigating a case involving arcade centers that have been damaged by a cosmic beam. The crowds of visitors have turned into monsters, and the arcade machines are launching unusual versions of legendary games.

Coin-Op Vice's graphics are inspired by the limited color palette, monochrome sprites, CRT monitor glow, and even text mode of classic games from the ZX Spectrum, Commodore, Apple, MSX, Atari, and MS-DOS in CGA and EGA modes.

The main objective of each mission is to play all the damaged arcade machines, and over 100 different short mini-games are launched on them. These mini-games range from platformers to legendary titles like Arkanoid, Xonix, Digger, and Snake.

The game also features deck building, where players receive a reward in the form of two random cartridges for each completed arcade. These cartridges enhance skills, provide weapons, and endow abilities. By combining cartridges in a deck, players can take down the toughest monsters. Combining two cartridges creates a higher-level cartridge.

Coin-Op Vice is set to be released on September 26 and will be available on Steam. Players can visit the Steam page for more information and to add the game to their wishlist. Andrei Fomin can also be followed on Twitter for updates on the game and his other projects.
