Closed Beta Announced for Level Zero: Extraction, a Multiplayer Extraction Horror Game

Gaming Staff • February 21, 2024

tinyBuild and DogHowl Games have announced that Level Zero: Extraction, a first-person multiplayer extraction horror game, will have a closed beta test on Steam starting March 15, 2024. The game was previously known as Level Zero and features a unique gameplay formula that combines sci-fi survival horror with high-stakes extraction shooters. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game has players embark on dangerous scavenging expeditions where three teams of up to three mercenaries compete for valuable loot, while two other players take on the role of deadly alien monsters, hunting the humans from the shadows.

Level Zero: Extraction offers asymmetric multiplayer extraction horror, with players able to choose between playing as human mercenaries fighting over valuable loot or as deadly alien monsters in high-stakes PvPvE battles. The game features immersive first-person combat with realistic gunplay and melee mechanics, as well as a vast arsenal of weapons and gadgets to help humans survive. Aliens have out-of-this-world abilities, including acid spit, live traps, vent crawling, EMP screams, heartbeat scans, and more. The game also has a deep progression system with dozens of new perks, items, and weapon attachments to unlock.

The game's closed beta will be available on Steam, and players can wishlist the game and follow along on Twitter to stay up to date with all the latest announcements. tinyBuild is a Seattle-based developer-publisher, while DogHowl Games is a Ukraine-based independent game development team. Level Zero: Extraction is DogHowl Games' debut title and will release on Steam in 2024.
