Pc Games Indie Game Early Access Role Playing Game Free To Play Nintendo Switch Microsoft Xbox Virtual Reality GamingThe Devil’s Due is a new card-duelling roguelite poker game developed by Norwegian studio Games People Play. In the game, players must cheat their way through increasingly difficult card duels against monsters representing the seven deadly sins, in order to escape Hell and reclaim their soul from the Devil. Cheating is not only allowed but encouraged, with a variety of dirty tricks and relics to unlock and use against opponents. However, overuse of these tricks raises the suspicion meter, potentially leading to a devastating counterattack.
The game features intense one-on-one poker battles, with the strength of the player's poker hand determining their damage, and the sum of their cards' values determining their defense. Players can unlock and master an ever-expanding arsenal of cheat tricks, such as concealing and swapping cards mid-battle, boosting card values, and sabotaging the enemy’s hand.
As players progress through the seven layers of Hell, they can earn permanent upgrades, new cheat cards, powerful relics, and fresh strategies with each run. The game also features shops to scam, healing shrines, and delightfully rigged mini-games that are totally fair if you know how to cheat them.
The Devil’s Due is developed by Games People Play, a Norwegian game studio founded by two best friends, Jack Kristoffersen and Joachim Barrum, who have made games together for over 30 years. The game is set to be released by 2025.
