Popularium, a gaming company founded by industry veterans, has launched the private Alpha for its first game, Chaos Agents, an autobattler-royale designed by Richard Garfield. The Alpha was initially planned for 1,000 seats, but due to overwhelming demand, Popularium increased the number to 5,000 for the initial launch and plans to expand it to over 10,000 players in early 2025.

Chaos Agents was well received at Gen Con 2024, leading to over 20,000 players signing up for the Alpha. Popularium also launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on the Republic platform, which was fully committed and oversubscribed within six hours of launching publicly.

In Chaos Agents, players coach and guide a globally unique superhero to victory in a battle royale against dozens of other Agents. The game features deep, strategic card play, and each Agent is globally unique, meaning only one player in the world can play with an Agent at a time.

Chaos Agents plans to expand its Alpha in late January together with the Second Chaos World Championship and enter Early Access in late 2025. Players can sign up for the Alpha at popularium.com and request priority access by joining the Chaos Agents Discord server.

Popularium's vision is to involve the community from an early stage and give them the tools to impact the narrative and economy by playing games the way they want to. Chaos Agents is the company's first effort to bring this vision to life.
