Capcom Unveils Monster Hunter Wilds, Onimusha, and Fighting Game Surprises

Pc Games Action Game Role Playing Game Indie Game Free To Play Microsoft Xbox Sony PlaystationCapcom recently held two online showcases, the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase and Capcom Spotlight, where they revealed new information about several upcoming games. For Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom announced a new location, the Iceshard Cliffs, where the frosty Leviathan monster Hirabami resides. Two returning fan-favorite monsters, Nerscylla and Gore Magala, were also announced. Additionally, Capcom revealed that the game's flagship monster, Arkveld, will be available to hunt during the Open Beta Test 2, which runs from February 6-9 and February 13-16. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on February 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Capcom also announced that a remaster of the classic Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is set to release in 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. A remaster of the original game, Onimusha: Warlords, is currently on sale for $9.99 USD on digital stores.
In addition to these announcements, Capcom revealed that MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is now available on Xbox One, and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will be released on May 16 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC via Steam, and Xbox One. Capcom Fighting Collection 2 includes online play with rollback netcode and quality-of-life updates for all eight games.
Capcom also announced the release of the Ōkami + Kunitsu-Gami Bundle, which includes Ōkami HD and The Game Awards 2024 Best Sim/Strategy Game nominee Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. Street Fighter 6 will also be receiving a new character, Mai, starting on February 5. Capcom Cup 11, the pinnacle of Street Fighter esports, will take place from March 5-9, 2025, at the famed Ryogoku Kokugikan sumo arena in Tokyo, Japan.
