A new lunar automation factory building game, The Crust, is set to launch on Steam and Epic on July 15th, 2024. Inspired by industry giants Rimworld and Factorio, The Crust combines factory building with scientist management mechanics and offers a compelling narrative of a desolate future and the cautious optimism of shaping a destiny on the moon.

Players start with nothing but a few drones after a mysterious explosion and must build up the surface and underground. The game involves creating a network of solar panels and batteries to power different machines, turning regolith into useable materials, and constructing complex factories to craft valuable productions.

While the primary mission is to make the moon habitable, players can also help Earth through different factions and special projects. These factions offer contracts that players can accept or decline, and completing them on time provides rewards such as money, reputation, and additional drones.

Managing teams of scientists is another critical aspect of the game. Players must build a suitable habitat underground to provide water, oxygen, and food for the scientists, who operate special machines, lead lunar expeditions, and generate research points. These points can be used in a multilevel research tree consisting of three branches: Social, Fundamental, and Engineering.

The Crust seamlessly blends strategy, management, and the end of the world, providing players with an engaging experience on the moon. The game is developed by VEOM Studio and published by Crytivo, with a release date set for July 15th, 2024, and a price of $29.99, including a 10% launch discount. The game will be available on Steam and Epic.
