Pearl Abyss, the Korean developer and publisher, has announced the release of Mountain of Eternal Winter, the latest expansion for Black Desert Online on PlayStation and Xbox. This new expansion introduces a snowy region with a new storyline, unique quests, a formidable boss, and new gear.

Mountain of Eternal Winter offers players a chance to explore a new snowy region, ascend the Mountain of Eternal Winter, and vanquish the witch Illezra. The expansion features a new player starting zone, with a leveling experience that invites new players to immerse themselves in the game's lore and world.

The new region includes a new questline with fully rendered, voice-acted cutscenes and lore-based stories. Players can visit Eilton, the central hub of the expansion, and navigate Okjinsini territory in Jade Starlight Forest. They can also battle polar bears and snow leopards at Winter Tree Fossil to awaken Erebjork's wrath and delve into the Sherekhan Iron Mine in Murrowak's Labyrinth to clear infestations led by their queen, Vercedes.

The expansion introduces a new boss, Erebjork, equipped with a massive ice axe and shield and the ability to summon blizzards. Defeating Erebjork gives players a chance to obtain Flame of Frost, which is used to craft Labreska’s Helmet, powerful new gear introduced in Mountain of Eternal Winter.

Black Desert Console is hosting a series of in-game events, offering abundant rewards to enhance players' journeys in Mountain of Eternal Winter. The game is hosting a 500% hot-time event across all servers and a special event challenge where players can log-in and participate in an event that rewards players up to 200 stacks of Advice of Valks. The Fwuzzy Alpaca, a mount exclusive to Shai characters, is also available for players by completing a short quest.
