BIG Festival Announces Winners of Latin America's Premier Video Game Awards

Indie Game Pc Games Role Playing Game Action Game

The gamescom latam BIG Festival, sponsored by Banco do Brasil, announced the winners of the first night of the largest video game awards ceremony in Latin America on May 1, 2025. The event showcased over 100 innovative and promising games, with 16 categories presented and winners selected by a jury panel of 49 members. The festival returns this Sunday, June 4, with additional award announcements and tributes.

Shuhei Yoshida, former Head of Indies at Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios and leader of the PlayStation Indies program, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his impact and transformation of the global gaming industry. The awards ceremony was held at the gamescom latam stage sponsored by Kabum!, with nominees, fans, and coordinated outfits filling the audience.

Some of the main category winners include:

* Game of the Year: Nine Sols, a hand-drawn 2D action-platformer developed by Red Candle Games.
* Best Game: Latin America: Grizzly Man, developed by LCB Game Studio.
* Best Game: Brazil: Mullet MadJack, developed by Hammer 95 Studios and published by Epopeia Games.
* Best Casual Game: Paper Trail, from Newfangled Games.
* Best Art: Naiad, created and published by HiWarp.
* Best Narrative: Neva, developed by Nomada Studio and published by Devolver Digital.
* Best Gameplay: Animal Well, developed by Shared Memory and published by Bigmode.
* Innovation Award: Sol Cesto, developed by Geraud Zucchini & Chariospirales and published by Goblinz Publishing.
* Best Mobile Game: Levil Devil, by Unept, LLC.
* Best Multiplayer Game: Bang Bang Barrage, developed by Monkey Bread and published by Spiral Up Games.

gamescom latam, the largest games festival in the world, takes place in São Paulo, Brazil, from April 30 to May 4, 2025, in the Anhembi District. The event is jointly organized by Koelnmesse, Omelete Company, BIG Festival, and game, the German association of the games industry.
