WOMBEX Games, an indie game development studio, has announced the Early Access release of their rhythm-based strategy game, Bass Defense, on Steam. The game is now available with a 30% launch discount until September 2nd.

Bass Defense combines musical rhythm-based gameplay with strategic elements, requiring players to hit buttons in time with the music to clear enemies, known as NMYs, attacking their base. The Early Access version includes three game modes, upgradable power-ups, 20 challenging levels, and three difficulty levels.

The game offers nine performance enhancements, such as extra health, stronger attacks, and faster reload times, which add strategic depth to the rhythm-based gameplay. The full version of Bass Defense will feature 20 playable levels, three game modes, and nine power-ups. WOMBEX Games plans to gather feedback during Early Access to refine power-up mechanics, balance gameplay, and enhance level details.

The three game modes in Bass Defense are Soundwave, Overcharge, and Fingerton. Soundwave mode features rhythm-focused gameplay, while Overcharge mode is tower defense-focused. Fingerton mode challenges players to use only one finger to humiliate the quickest gunslingers. Each mode offers a unique gameplay experience, and the game features various routes of access to the base for NMYs, adding to the challenge.

Bass Defense features 20 levels with surprising level designs and three difficulties, Easy, Normal, and Hard. Players can earn energy capsules by using power-ups and upgrade their gear between maps and difficulties. The game's full version will include nine power-ups, which players can earn and upgrade throughout the game.
