Ramen VR, a game development studio, has announced Aura, an AI assistant specifically designed for use with Unreal Engine. The assistant is currently in closed pre-alpha and is being tested by a select group of game studios and creators. Aura is designed to provide AI-powered assistance for various aspects of game development in Unreal Engine, including implementation, debugging, and optimization. It utilizes deep contextual understanding of games and the engine to empower developers to build faster, stay in flow, and ship with confidence.

According to Ramen VR CEO Andy Tsen, Aura is like an excellent teammate who is deeply familiar with a project and can help realize a studio's creative vision by implementing detailed technical solutions for complex game designs. Tsen also mentioned that he wished he had access to such a tool five years ago when he was working on the game Zenith.

Aura is currently outperforming traditional chatbots and direct competitors in its accuracy during the closed pre-alpha phase. Developers and content creators can sign up for closed pre-alpha access on the Aura website, with early access currently planned for July 1, 2025.
