Articy Software, the company behind the popular narrative design tool articy:draft X, has released a new update (version 4.1) that enhances scripting and writing capabilities for game writers and developers. The update introduces new features such as "seen/unseen" keywords to support the scripting of choice points, making it easier to model single choices, fallback paths, and conditional paths. Read-only template properties have also been added, allowing users to mark template properties as read-only in the articy:draft X UI.

The update also includes a migration to .NET 8, which improves performance and ensures that articy:draft X remains up-to-date with the latest technology. Additionally, the DevKit Tools plugin has been added, which facilitates the creation of custom plugins via the MDK and setting up API projects. The articy API is now also available as a NuGet Package for easier project setups.

Extended capabilities allow for modifying templates, features, and property definitions programmatically, providing developers with even more control over their projects. The In-App Help feature brings the comprehensive knowledge of the help center directly into articy:draft for easier access.

The update also includes several small yet meaningful improvements and fixes, all aimed at enhancing the articy:draft experience. The dedicated Unity and Unreal importers have also been updated to support all the new features, ensuring that game studios have everything they need to create the best stories possible.
