Salt and Pixel has announced the release of their new game, Annihilator, a dark, mature top-down shooter for the Game Boy Color. The game is set in the year 40XX in a city called Eden Try, which is powered by human suffering. The suffering is collected through a process called Tribulation, which transforms human agony into fuel for war machines and enhanced soldiers.

The victims of Tribulation have their torsos, vital organs, and brains fused with machines that extract raw emotion from them. They are then locked in a perpetual loop of death and revival, forced to relive their final moments endlessly to power the city. However, one person has managed to escape this hell and is now being pursued by death.

The player takes on the role of Shinryu, also known as the Annihilator, in this action-packed game. The game is now available for purchase on Itch.io. Salt and Pixel is a company that specializes in creating authentic, retro console art and games for both modern and classic platforms. Their previous works include Outer Terror, CRUSH, Former Dawn, Cosmic Climb (Nike), Sitra Achra, and Star Racer, among others. More information about the company can be found on their website.
