Pc Games Early Access Indie Game Role Playing Game

"Ale Abbey," a medieval brewery tycoon simulation game, is now available on PC via Steam Early Access. Developed by Hammer & Ravens and published by Shiro Unlimited, players take on the role of an ambitious Abbot, tasked with transforming a sleepy country monastery into a beer brewing powerhouse. The game features an original soundtrack by Clint Bajakian, composer of Return to Monkey Island.

To become a successful brewing tycoon, players must build facilities, hire staff, and research recipes for new brews. They must also balance the spiritual needs of the monks and local citizenry. The game offers multiple upgrades to improve operations and lead the abbey to craft beer fame and fortune.

The abbey is located in the countryside, and players can increase the monastery's fame by discovering neighboring towns and villages and their parched inhabitants. They can also choose to grease the palms of greedy bandits for protection or shmooze high-ranking officials to ensure the monastery's continued growth and success.

According to Emiliano Pastorelli, Game Director at Hammer & Ravens, "Beer - as well as the monasteries that produced it - were a key part of medieval society. Making and selling ale was a way for monks to keep their monasteries running, and in the process, they developed many of the most popular beer varieties we know today."

Ale Abbey is now available on PC in Early Access via Steam for $14.99/€14.99EUR/£12.79 with a 10% launch discount for 14 days. The game supports English, Spanish, French, Chinese, German, Italian, and Russian languages.

Shiro Unlimited and Hammer & Ravens are independent game development studios based in Bordeaux, France, and Tallinn, Estonia, respectively. Shiro Games has developed successful games such as Evoland, Northgard, Wartales, and Dune: Spice Wars. Hammer & Ravens has developed and published games for PC and consoles, as well as museum apps and educational mobile games.
