Akupara Games, a Los Angeles-based publisher, and Studio Hybrid, a solo developer studio, have partnered to release the action-puzzle metroidvania game GIGASWORD on PC. The game is set to launch on October 2, 2025, after five years of development. In GIGASWORD, players control Ezra, who must wield the powerful GIGASWORD to save humanity and restore order to the Nestrium. The sword serves not only as a weapon but also as a tool to solve puzzles and unlock doors. However, its immense weight can be both an asset and a hindrance, making its mastery essential to the success of Ezra's quest.

GIGASWORD takes place in Thoenhart, a city suffering from famine and disease. The humans of Thoenhart believe that obtaining the God Crystal, Gnosis, from the Nestrium will bring them prosperity. However, when they disturb the ancient tower's power, they awaken an evil capable of destroying reality. Ezra must navigate the Nestrium's treacherous halls, battling corrupted bosses and demons to prevent this catastrophe.

Key features of GIGASWORD include balancing the weight of the sword to solve puzzles, discovering hidden secrets, and acquiring new abilities to aid in Ezra's journey. The game's themes revolve around humanity's greed and the consequences of disrupting the natural order.
