Hooded Horse, a publisher of strategic games, has announced that the roguelite kingdom builder 9 Kings, developed by Sad Socket, has sold over 250,000 copies in its first week of early access on Steam. The game, which features unique cards, combo-fuelled battles, and endless combinations of troops, spells, buildings, and unit positioning, has received positive reviews and is currently rated at 93% "Very Positive" on Steam.

Sad Socket was founded by Rafael Melo and André Young, two childhood friends from Santos who have been working hard on post-launch support for the game. The team plans to release more patches and has outlined an initial content roadmap for early access.

Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender expressed his excitement for the game's success and his gratitude for working with Sad Socket. INSTINCT3, an influencer marketing agency from Germany, is assisting Hooded Horse in the GAS region covering Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

9 Kings is available now on PC via Steam Early Access for $14.99 / £12.00 / €14.99 / ¥1,860, with a 35% discount running until June 6.
